There's different types of metaphors. Some of them are fairly straightforward "A means B" and some of them are more complex. I mean I guess it's a simile. That's a special type of metaphor.

I don't think she means that though.

I think she means this is the TRUTH as she sees it.

Bell is my friend. But Bell is your friend. The way you see him is different from the way I see him. He's special to you in a way that he's not to me.

Simon is important to her in a different way from how he is important to other people, so she calls him her moon. It is a nickname? Like if I was to call Bell something? Or Lotus?

Well no a simile is a metaphor that uses "like" in it's comparison. The phrase "life is like a box of chocolates" is a simile.
