I do not know that there is anything more to say on the topic of me. I am Maito Gai, the Green Beast of Konoha, teacher of Lee, Neji, and Tenten, Eternal Rival to Kakashi, summoner of Ninkame, shinobi of Konohagakure. What you have seen and met is me. I teach and I train and I fight. And I hug. And you are all welcome to visit. If there is anything anyone else would like to know, you may ask, but I cannot think of what else to say.

I am going home, but I will see many of you again, for I will visit here, and the worlds that have an invitation.

It has been my honor to work with those I have, and to meet those I have. I will not forget any of you.

It is. I am from just before your surgery occurs, though Kakashi has told me how that will go.

Oh, right! The surgery! It is strange to think that I was almost tricked by the Sphere and its misleading ways into thinking I might have... That was not a very nice trick for it to play! On any of us!

Yes! That is how we will do it! I will be aware when the time comes too, Gai-sensei! We will change how things might have been and change the future to our liking!

Lotus thought that his fight with Gaara meant he was dead; it seems to be a trick the Sphere has played on you both.

You will be aware after the push, but you will become aware when we are there, and so we will do what we can.

The Sphere was not nice to us at times. But there were good times as well. I am. Very glad we came here, even if things were not perfect.

Yes. Gai-sensei, I swear you will not have to face this alone. I will always be by your side, helping you through this in any way I can. Even if I do not remember before the battle, I will, and have been, always by your side.

There have been many good things here, and coming here has been worth it even with the hard things.
