Twenty-first Lotus
[The writing is a little more tidy than normal, he's being official.]
The person killing others is dead. There is no need to panic.
Zombie was killing people before he was taken down by an extremely large crab, but he has been stopped now.
The injured and the dead are being taken to Wellspring. Please do not swarm it; the healers have much to do with somewhere around twenty injured and ten dead. We do not have the exact numbers or all of the names yet.
The scene is being taken care of by the people who are supposed to be here. Please do not come and gawk, because I think that would make Stoneface yell more.
Thank you.

[[ooc: Do we want to turn this into a quicklog? or...?]]

quicklog (sorry, tl;dr)
[Despite what she wrote in the journal, Kagerou gets to her feet to do another brief supply run. There's relatively little she can do at this point, her healing exhausted if she wants to stay on her feet, but there's always someone in need of bandages--or just another cup of coffee--or an entry wound that needs stitching. The promise of a friendly face and a continued break does wonders to keep her going.
She's back in the staff room by the time Youth comes in, trying to manage the steps of brewing more coffee. The operation at the clinic has run on the stuff for some time now.
She does manage a tired smile, if nothing else.] Oh, hello.
quicklog (no worries!)
He made one quick detour - by Koi's shop to pick up some tea. She said it helped. While he had no idea what Kagerou's favorite was, he picked a green tea since it always seemed to invigorate him the most.
Spotting Kagerou working, he beamed nonetheless. He'd made the right choice, clearly.]
Hello, Kagerou! I am here now! We should find you a chair. You do not look like you are very full of energy.
quicklog
Thank you for coming. Oh, I've just been doing supply runs. I don't know very much yet, so people just tell me what to bring them. Is it... is it always like this? When people get hurt?
[She sank into the chair under her own volition.]
quicklog
Normally this many people are not hurt all at once. The last time several people were hurt it was only the ones on the Watch, and that was one a day for a few days.
[His expression changed to be more confident, encouraging.]
This is a one time thing! You do not have to worry about so much going on again for quite a while, I think.
quicklog
[She automatically raised a hand to take the tea.]
Oh, thank you. Would you like a cup, if you don't have to run right now?
[She took the packet, got to her feet again, and reached to hug him quickly, her free arm around his shoulders, communicating both support and reliance before she drew back.]
I'm not worrying about the future, really, the present's hectic enough. It's just that... There's so many hurt people, and so many others who fear for them. You know. It's a little overwhelming.
quicklog
[Youth smiles and gives her a thumbs up.]
I would enjoy sharing tea with you! This is one of my favorite blends!
[He gives her a quick tight squeeze back, saying the same thing.]
I know. There is a lot to do. But it will slow down, and most are making it through. You will get through this and so will everyone else.
quicklog
Yes. I know my worry's small. People died today, and their friends can't be sure if or when they'll be coming back. Everyone here is trying their hardest, though, so I... I can't give up just yet. Even if I'm just making coffee.
[She worries her lip a little.]
I... were you there? Did you see it happen? I can't help wondering about that boy. Zombie. What could have made him... [A helpless hand gesture, then, and she falls silent.]
quicklog
Your worry is just the same as anyone else's. It is not less valid, and you are helping. You are doing your best!
[Youth gives a more solemn nod.]
I got there when it was close to over, trying to keep more from being hurt. I do not know why he did it. I have spoken with him over the journals before. Maybe something happened to him. Maybe he got a very bad memory and was not prepared. There are a lot of possible reasons and we do not know any of them.
[Youth rests a sure hand on her shoulder.] Do not worry. It will be figured out, I am sure.
quicklog
A bad memory? Mmm. I think my brother must have been on the fourth floor with him just a while ago. Lea didn't really give me any details, and I don't think he should have--our memories are our own, they're personal. But he said something about Zombie's memory having been... well, very bad.
Maybe that's good to keep in mind if he comes back? I mean, it's awful that this happened, it's horrible. But maybe there was a reason of some sort.
quicklog
I will finish making this. Sit down. You are supposed to be resting.
[He quickly puts tea bags in the mugs, nodding and listening.]
It is possible some people have had very rough lives. There is no telling what happened in their past until they get memories. It could be not his fault. There is a reason, and we will find out what we can. And I think we will be fair to Zombie, too.
quicklog
So, she folds back into the chair with hardly a protest, instead.]
Oh, I didn't want to try and... downplay what happened, no. It doesn't seem like a simple matter. You know what's strange? When this started, I... It seemed like I'd seen something like this before. I don't know very much about what I did before I came here, but... healing people seems familiar somehow.
[A pause and a wan, sincere smile.] I'll just consider it a good thing now. It helps me to stay focused.
quicklog
Slowly, he nods.]
It is not that strange. I have had moments of familiarity with different circumstances and sights. Things that mean something but I am not sure what. I think that it happens to everyone. And you have learned something that is important to you!
[His return smile is warm.] Every bit that we know is helpful.
