Thirty-third Lotus

Did anyone else who got items get one that had their name on it? Mine is written, in my hand, though I cannot read my family name. It was also wrapped. I liked the wrapping! It was a very nice touch.

Happy new year, if we are correct about a date, to everyone that wishes to have one. And to those who do not want to think it is a new year, tomorrow is a new day any way, and thus should be seized and enjoyed!

[[ooc: For his canon birthday, Gai got Ninkame's scroll. It'll be a while before he figures out how to use it, and it still won't summon Ninkame, but he now has it.]]

They should have sent champagne instead. Good thing I picked up some.

[identity profile] grab-my-bells.livejournal.com 2011-01-01 09:14 am (UTC)(link)
Probably both.

Huh? [Liar. The champagne was bought because of the rain, no matter what he writes.] Oh, I just got it for the New Year, but that works too. Shame I don't have enough for us to bath in.

[identity profile] grab-my-bells.livejournal.com 2011-01-01 09:30 am (UTC)(link)
It probably was.

So? We somehow managed last year.

It says I'm a scroll of paper. I don't know. The idea of scrolls is familiar, and feels like something, but that something isn't really that specific to me.

No, it was showering. And was it really accidental?
I think so. I'll get the glasses.

[identity profile] grab-my-bells.livejournal.com 2011-01-01 10:05 am (UTC)(link)
Mm hm.

I went out to get a drink. Intentionally. A shower just sort of went with it.

[identity profile] grab-my-bells.livejournal.com 2011-01-01 10:14 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I apologize in advance if I spill on you this time. I assure you, it's purely accidental if you come away bathed in champagne this time.

[identity profile] grab-my-bells.livejournal.com 2011-01-01 10:23 am (UTC)(link)
Who said anything about on purpose?
I'll make sure to clean up any messes I make.

[identity profile] grab-my-bells.livejournal.com 2011-01-01 10:51 am (UTC)(link)
It might be.
Good.

As ever, you speak with both resolve and wisdom.

I cannot say; we are only passing acquaintances. Though I imagine that the very fact of his interest bodes well.

The year's changed? I'll admit I sometimes fall in the habit of missing things, but [pause]

Edensphere must not celebrate that much, hm?

Is this time last year winter as well?

If that's the case, the cycle of seasons match with Earth's Gregorian calendar system that this New Year is based on, then you can say it fits.

Mm. I've heard of the fire. As significant as it sounded, it doesn't really count in the calendar system.
lingeringlegacy: (nice)

[personal profile] lingeringlegacy 2011-01-02 05:50 am (UTC)(link)
Of course! I apologise if I have misunderstood.

[identity profile] crimson-seeker.livejournal.com 2011-01-02 06:02 pm (UTC)(link)
It's not the calendar I was used to, that much I can tell. But it serves, and gives us a common measure for the time. Suppose that's enough.

[identity profile] crimson-seeker.livejournal.com 2011-01-03 05:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, the lunar month seems the same length. The names don't match, but it's workable.

Makes me wonder, though. So many different worlds, but so many things that seem more or less the same, too.
